I am in a class called drama right now. We read a play called The Taming of the Shrew. This was about the patriarchal society which means that the men had control and the women could do much if they were wronged. If the women acted up they were called shrews thich meant like an annoying person who didn't need to be recognised. So for my AP I wrote a sonnet to petrictio questioning him of why he acted in such a way to kate.
Petricio sonnet
Dear Petrucio why must you trifle
“come, come, you wasp,” man that is pretty rude
I think You really should think to stifle
Man I don't really get your attitude
Is it really fair to starve the woman.
Was it worth it when you hit your servants.
What was your point, you know she is human
You aren’t even a respectful person.
Petruchio, you ceased her, that was mean
You turned Kate into someone else, how cruel
And you used her like a washing machine
And everyone thought that you were a fool
You wooed her in the beginning crazy
That was frivolous, just for a lady
